Male Birth Control Pills
For years, female’s sole responsibility of taking oral contraception has been an inevitable task. Now over four decades of research and testing on various male participates, the pill is almost ready to hit the market with full force.
Now the big question is, if you are a guy, would you be willing to take those pills?
Would men consider this an unnecessary form of contraception, other than condoms?
On top of that, females wonder why males would take birth control pills, it’s not like they can get pregnant, right?
Correct, although it is an obvious fact that males can’t get pregnant but the pills can reduce the sperm count down to zero.
By eliminating all the sperm, the female egg can’t be fertilized, and thus, pregnancy can be prevented.
As this idea continues to run through your mind, you might wonder, is this all safe, and how effective is it?
Well, according to the research centers it is completely safe and 100% effective. Now countless research has been done on man of all ages and race, and even mice. The results were the same with no known side effects, but once it hits the market, will it ever come to use? Only time will tell, but this new method of birth control will certainly open up new opportunity for couples to suit their lifestyle or needs. Some female might experience health difficulty that retrains them from taking birth control pills, so this can be an alternative option.
However, there are down sides to these pills, as would anything that sounds too good to be true. Just as how females have to take birth control pills everyday for it to be 100% effective, males are also required to do the same or else it won’t work. This arises us to another problem, will a female trust their male partner enough to take the responsibility of taking those daily pills?
Obviously, a male can’t get pregnant whether if they take it or not, but a female on the other can get pregnant if the males don’t take their pills. So will a male be responsible enough to know the consequences of not taking the pills? Or what if they forget to take them?
Since the pill has not yet been released, we certainly cannot predict the outcome of its success rate. However, it is an interesting concept that will capture worldwide attention but will women trust their guys? And are guys willing to take on the responsibility to take those pills? It’s a brand new method, and it is within human nature to be afraid to try new things.
